Almost every night after dinner I take a walk to not only get fresh air and take advantage of the longer days, but also to take in the skies. Always different and never cease to impress. My natural response is to just take a breath and say ‘wow’ internally and then I am compelled to take the picture - wanting to freeze it in time or see how I can capture the ‘reality’ compared to what the camera lens sees, which is the art.
Over the weekend I took a few amazing walks in the woods. Not only was the light incredible, but on one of the walks we saw a few young deer on the path (too quick to take the picture) and we heard the sounds of squirrels up in the trees talking back and forth - who knows what they were talking about, but very fun to listen.
It’s so fun to take a break and listen to the trees blowing in the wind and grab some of the blackberries along the way. I’ve learned to only pick the ones that are just about to fall off the vine or they are still very bitter tasting. And, of course, watching out for the VERY sharp thorns and not fall into the bushes attempting to get to the deeper ones. Balancing the temptation of sweets and the challenge of getting the berries without incurring pain and injury by the thorns. My yoga routines are paying off.
